Sameer did his Master of Business Administration at The Marshall School of Business at The University of Southern California.  His primary focus was on Finance with a minor in Management.

APEC Business Advisoy Council

The Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) is an initiative by 21 Pacific Rim countries to promote free trade and economic cooperation throughout the Asia-Pacific region.  Sameer, with the Business Advisory Council, analyzednon-tariff barriers to trade in the region and presented to the business leaders of the APEC economies in Peru in 2008.  Recommendations focused on guarding against protectionism and honoring bilateral flow of goods.

Yamaha

To assist Yamaha Japan in increasing the sales of their Pianos in the U.S., Sameer developed a business plan to make Pianos attractive to the common man.  Recommendations included:

  • Creation of interactive stores for the consumer to experience the range of Pianos that Yamaha sells; and
  • Utilization of Online media and social networking to create network externalities.

Case Competitions

Sameer won the IBM consulting case competition at The National Society of Hispanic MBAs in 2008 beating teams from the top business schools in the country.  A description of this event and the case competition is available in the NSHMBA 2008 Annual Report.

Sameer represented The Marshall School of Business in the Global Consulting Challenge presenting the leadership of AT&T with a game plan to:

  • Monetize the evolving mobile entertainment landscape; and
  • Evolve with the impending net neutrality regulations.
